About the Author

Helen Gailey

I was born and lived in Australia for fifty-two years. I have two adult sons and one grandson who live in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. I love them dearly. Why live here in Tucson, Arizona, while my loved ones are on the other side of the world? Ken and I met online at a church website twenty years ago. When we met, we married, and the love has grown deeper. It was he, who has encouraged me to pursue my dreams as an author. Also, the loving words my mother shared with me before she died, “Don’t give up your writing.” That comment has always stayed with me.

About the Book

Unbreakable Bonds

A Journey of Love and Friendship

Unbreakable Bonds: is the story of an unusual friendship between Betsy, a servant, and Catherine, an aristocrat, who through a series of misadventures, fall victim to 18th Century English law. Catherine, a noblewoman, born to power and privilege, makes an impetuous choice that takes both her servant, and herself, into a storm of trial, scorn, and tribulation.

The story is a tale of loyalty and love as much as it’s a tale of the injustices and harrowing realities of life at the time. Hope becomes a prevalent theme throughout; a quiet virtue that guides the women through unbearable adversity into a compelling drama about real practices that occurred at the time.

“I spent one night to finish reading. Cannot stop reading. It’s a book that once you start wants to know the end!”

Ceanna

“I was interested by the history hidden in the story. The story revealed some unpleasant truths about 19th century England and the effort to colonize Australia. I found the characters engaging and the book well crafted. Among my better reads for the season.”

“I read this book for my weekly book club. Everyone in the club including myself loved this book. It is filled with excitement page after page. I love the kind of books that keep my interest throughout the entire book. My club discussed this book for hours. The part of the story I liked the most was the unlikely friendship that blossomed between.”
